Other People’s Love Letters: 150 Letters You Were Never Meant to See

Since our editor was a little girl, she's been obsessed with love letters! It probably started when her grandma showed her a stack of letters, post cards and telegrams her grandfather wrote, back in the days when dating wasn't an option (courtship involved sitting on her parents couch, separated by her father so they couldn't even really have a conversation). It seemed letter writing was all they had. Ever since she laid eyes on the yellowing post cards written in a foreign language, she couldn't help but wonder what other people wrote in their love letters. We must admit, she's gotten us intrigued too!

That's why we're so excited to have stumbled upon the book Other People’s Love Letters: 150 Letters You Were Never Meant to See on the most romantic day of the year, Valentine's Day.

In Other People’s Love Letters, author Bill Shapiro has searched America’s attics, closets, and cigar boxes and found actual letters written only for a lover’s eyes. What do we love about this book? First, we love that someone has made a collection of REAL letters, but also, this collection has a mixture of unique funny, tear jerking and touching love letters - they're not all mushy and romantic, some are truly hilarious and the website let's you browse the collection online. See for yourself or to learn more about the book, click here.

Happy Valentine's Day
